{Game Night} ...how it all works ;)

To keep everyone up to speed with Game Nights, and how they work...here ya go!

What are they???
I will periodically pick a night to share via Facebook a grouping of items (anywhere from 10-30 items) at a reduced price.  All different types of pieces are offered - anything from clips, to headbands, to bows!

How does it work???
I will upload a picture of each item for sale 1 by 1.  I will clearly state the description of the item (Details, Price, Qty available, etc).  The first person to comment with their email address gets the item. 

At the conclusion of the game I will send invoices (totaling all the items purchased) to your email address via PayPal.

*Important Note:
- The items are NOT *free*.
- If payment is not made within 2 days, your invoice/purchases will be canceled.

I think 500 is a lovely number, and I would love to hit that milestone of Facebook fans on or before Thursday.  Share the The Bow Chick with friends, and encourage them to say that 'you' sent them on my Wall.  The lucky person to refer my 500th Fan gets 1 item (up to $10 in value) *FREE*!  Yup, so you basically get $10 in credit ;)

No rest for the weary! ...AND, and a little *giveaway* action ;)

For those that know me, I am the typical "do a million things at once" kinda gal.  Or, as I would like to call it, a "great multi-tasker".  (Well...I think I do great at multi-tasking anyway).  My motto is GO BIG, or GO HOME!!!  I thoroughly enjoy every day, and wake up anxious about what that day will bring, and all the enless possibilities it has in store.

With that being said, I am excited about what has transpired in a mere 6 months since I decided to go 'live' with The Bow Chick.  Late December 2010 I opened my Etsy shop, followed by launching TBC on Facebook.  Sometimes it feels as if I've been doing this for years, but then remind myself I am only on the 2nd half of my first year in business.  I am still a work in progress, and learning as I go.  But one thing is for sure, I am overwhelmed with the support I have received, and all the wonderful comments and new customers that contact me each and every day, referred to me by YOU...all of my fabulous customers.

The Bow Chick is now in 3 local boutiques, with a couple more 'pending' (hint...think resort town).  I too am overflowing with ideas, and will actually be putting them in motion this weekend...eek!!  I have hinted at what they will be on Facebook, but I guarantee they will be amazing! 

In lieu of all the exciting things going on...I want to announce 2 things:

Hippoty Hoppity Easter's On Its Way!!!!

After being away for most of the week, I am slowly but surely trying to get back into things, and most importantly dig out from my emails!  I am so grateful that all of you have thought of me as the WARM weather approaches to be the 'go-to' for your little ones' hair accessory needs!

With that being said, I have been wanting to (and at the request of some customers) offer The Bow Chick Easter Baskets.  They will be a perfect gift on Easter morning!  

Details on The Bow Chick Easter Baskets:

-3 sizes (small, medium, large)

-Each size will have an assortment of hair clips, bows, flowers, & *headbands (large baskets only)

-The assortment of accessories will center around 'warm weather & summer' (think along the lines as flip flop ribbon, ice cream cone ribbon, bright & fun colors)  They will also contain at least (1) 4th of July themed piece (bow or clips).

-You do not get to hand select what each item will be, but you are guaranteed the following for each size:

I found myself in "THAT" store!

Ok, so it is safe to say that I am not entirely ready for my two oldest girls to ‘grow up’.  Let me rephrase that, NOT READY AT ALL!  I am thinking that I am fine with dressing them in ruffled leggings, boutique tops, and Gymboree until they’re 20…them, not so much.  They began with their “I’m not wearing that” tantrums at 2 years old, but now it has gotten worse.  Bows are becoming almost obsolete, and if it’s not a headband FORGET IT! 

So, with my middle one turning ‘5’ today I thought I would do HER a favor and get her something from what she thinks is “the BEST store EVER”…Justice.  *Enter the sighs, moans, tears here*  No offense to that store, or those who like it, I’m just not a fan.  However, I am most likely in the minority of the population because every little girl we know just loves it!  I mean to a 5 or 6 year old what’s not to like????  Sparkles, peace signs, and funky hats galore!   

I found myself going in there, and you can picture me, with this horrid look on my face, relentlessly trying to find something for her birthday, but something that also ‘semi’ meets my requirements too.  I did happen to find a cute pair of gymnast shorts (she competes on a team level) and a polka dot tunic that was kinda sorta cute, but of course has this HUGE silver sequined bow across the whole left shoulder.  After settling on those items I went to check out and found myself looking at hair accessories…yes I said it…hair accessories!  I couldn’t believe how all of these stores are now offering them in different variations, and at such ridiculous prices.  They were probably the cheapest materials and headbands I have seen, and they started at 13.99! 

This is the part where I shamelessly plug The Bow Chick, LOL.  I am very lucky to make such items, for less expensive, more unique, and CUSTOM.  I am thrilled that so many of you have contacted me with “I have this dress I want you to coordinate”, or “I have this cool top but need a really cool bow to match” requests.  After seeing what’s out there, I don’t blame you.   I love being creative, and unique, and sharing that with everyone.

My point in this whole fear and loathing rant of Justice stores??  Sometimes you have to pick your battles.  Is letting my 5 and 6 year old get something from Justice going to shatter my world?  No (well, almost), but at least I know I can come home and do up some mega cool hair accessory to match, that I have the final say in!  Something unique, not stamped out, and much better quality J

I blog...because I am BOWutiful!

Welcome to The Bow Chick Blog!  Eeeeks...I'm excited, nervous, happy all in one :)  I am new to the whole blog scene, so bear with me.

Q:  So, why start a blog??
A:  Well, as The Bow Chick continues to expand, I want to have as many portals as possible to keep my customers informed and up-to-date as possible.  If you don't already know, my Etsy shop is behind on updates.  Bad thing??....not necessarily!  I have had so many of you reach out to me via e-mail requesting 'custom orders' that those, of course, take first priority.  In addition, Facebook has become a WONDERFUL venue for communicating special deals & my latest and greatest products.  I am always using Facebook to share new products, status updates, and ask opinions. 

So what does all that mean?  It means I am thrilled to be able to accessorize your little sweeties, and maybe even you!  So, my Etsy shop isn't the 'be all, end all'.  I encourage you to contact me, at any time, with ANY custom request. 

The Bow Chick officially opened the week after Christmas, and in 2 1/2 months we are already doing so many fun and exciting things...with more on the horizon!
